Whites & Bubbles in Wines & Spirits Volume 7: Autumn Flavours

Whites and bubbles in autumn are perfect not only with oysters but also with rich dishes like a creamy risotto or other autumnal delights.

Lino Ramble Grillo

Wine_Grillo_McLaren-Lino ramble

Purchased at Ratafia (yes, they sell wine alongside seasonal desserts), Lino Ramble continues their love for Mediterranean flavours. Grillo is an ancient Sicilian white grape, sourced from the very first McLaren Vale Grillo plantings by Chalk Hill Viticulture at their Lanark vineyard on Chaple Hill Road.

The wine is cold-fermented using wild yeasts in stainless steel and old French oak barrels to preserve the primary fruit characteristics. Naturally acidic, with minimal added sulphites. Medium intensity with notes of melon and pear. The palate also reveals hints of citrus. Full and rich mouthfeel with a soft waxy finish.

Grapes:

  • 100% Grillo

Ce n’est pas La Fin Du Monde

Ce n'est pas La Fin Du Monde Beer

A playful nod to the year 2020 and their iconic La Fin du Monde beer. This golden, complex beer is made with Belgian yeast at 9.5% ABV. Aromatic power and the bitterness of New World IPAs converge, creating a unique meeting of cultures. Just as French explorers ventured inland with the guidance of Indigenous peoples, it’s your turn to explore a new taste territory.

Reds in Wines & Spirits Volume 7: Autumn Flavours

Reds are essential for those who swear by them. Let’s not disappoint.

Secreto Patagónico Rebel Patagonia

Secreto Patagónico Rebel Patagonia

Argentinian wines are hugely popular on our site, as shown here. Secreto Patagónico crafts this delicate Pinot Noir with aromas of sour cherry and cranberry. On the palate, it’s simply delightful. With low tannins, it paired excellently with a beef tartare, where the wine never overpowers the dish.

Grapes:

  • 100% Pinot Noir
