A few weeks ago, in mid-January, the SWATCH Group\u2014which oversees prestigious brands such as OMEGA, Hamilton<\/a>, SWATCH<\/a>, Longines<\/a> and Breguet<\/a>\u2014officially opened the first Tissot boutique in Canada, at Centre Eaton in Montr\u00e9al.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

You won\u2019t find a store as large as Time Vall\u00e9e at Royalmount<\/a> or any other major watch retailer in Greater Montreal. At nearly 60 square metres, the space is compact\u2014but everything has been thought out down to the smallest detail, with a modern layout that perfectly reflects the brand\u2019s DNA.<\/p>\n\n\n

The most striking feature greets you as soon as you enter (on the left): a circular arch with an industrial aesthetic, a large red neon ring on a black background, engraved with a timeline tracing the history of Tissot since its origins. It is both a nod to mechanical watchmaking and a spectacular display that entices you to enter.<\/p>\n\n\n

Inside, the collections are presented by themes, and the space is distinguished by the same vaulted display concept that opens to reveal the watchmaker\u2019s most prized timepieces. In terms of experience, a holographic projection of various Tissot watches\u2014including the T-Touch Connect Sport pictured here, visible levitating in a glass box\u2014immediately catches the eye. The effect is incredible: the dial comes to life, displaying GPS data and heart rate, as if the watch were floating in the air. Around it, the brand\u2019s partnerships are proudly displayed\u2014Tour de France, MotoGP, NBA, Goldorak\u2014each universe has its own staging.<\/p>\n\n\n

The store also offers repair, maintenance and restoration services for watches at L\u2019Atelier. And if you want to try a model before making your decision, you can\u2014the staff is welcoming, passionate, and professional, with a contagious enthusiasm for sharing their love of watchmaking. Why Montr\u00e9al?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

It is clear that many people will wonder about the decision to open in downtown Montr\u00e9al, given that Royalmount, Carrefour Laval, or even Toronto might have seemed like more logical options. But it is through their shared French roots that Tissot, originally from Le Locle, Switzerland, and Montr\u00e9al\u2019s rich Francophone culture, that the city emerged as the natural choice to host the brand\u2019s first Canadian boutique, thereby strengthening its connection to heritage and watchmaking expertise.<\/p>\n\n\n
