The Porsche 911 Turbo S T-Hybrid \u2014 701 Horsepower, Zero Concessions<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

The new 2026 Porsche 911 Turbo S marks a historic milestone by integrating a hybrid system for the very first time. This system pairs the 3.6-litre flat-six engine and two electric turbochargers with an electric motor housed in the PDK gearbox. Total output: 701 horsepower \u2014 61 more than the previous generation. The 0\u2013100 km\/h sprint is dispatched in 2.5 seconds with the Sport Chrono package.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This is not a compromise hybrid. The T-Hybrid system is self-charging, recovering thermal energy from the exhaust gases using technology directly inherited from the Porsche 919 Hybrid that dominated Le Mans. No plug required \u2014 just fuel \u2014 and the Turbo S optimises its performance seamlessly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The titanium exhaust, replacing the stainless steel unit of the previous generation, sheds weight while delivering a magnificently raw soundtrack. Despite the few extra kilograms brought by the battery, the Turbo S remains the fastest 911 ever built, capable of reaching 322 km\/h on summer tyres.<\/p>\n\n\n

BMW iX3 \u2014 The Neue Klasse Has Arrived<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

The BMW iX3, which Marc Bouchard discussed in this episode of our podcast<\/a> En premi\u00e8re Classe (In french)<\/em>, inaugurates the Neue Klasse platform \u2014 the new electric architecture that will define BMW’s identity for the next decade. This is not simply a new model. It is a declaration.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The launch version, the iX3 50 xDrive, produces 463 horsepower with two electric motors and all-wheel drive, covering 0\u2013100 km\/h in 4.7 seconds. The estimated range reaches 650 kilometres, with DC fast-charging up to 400 kW \u2014 from 10 to 80% in 21 minutes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

European deliveries began in January 2026; North American models are expected in summer 2026, starting at approximately $70,000 CAD.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

New York Auto Show \u2014 First Look<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

The 2026 New York International Auto Show will run from April 3 to 12 at the Javits Center in Manhattan, with press days on April 1 and 2. The show remains an essential rendezvous for prestige brands: Audi, BMW, Mercedes-Benz, Porsche, Bentley, and Rolls-Royce each hold their stands. Several world debuts have been announced.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Villa San Michele, a Belmond Hotel \u2014 The Monastery Returns<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

Perched on the hills of Fiesole above Florence, Villa San Michele<\/a> reopens its doors on April 28, 2026, following an eighteen-month restoration that honours its Renaissance roots. Once a 15th-century Franciscan monastery, the property is reborn under the creative direction of Florentine architecture firm Luigi Fragola.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The reimagined Villa San Michele offers 39 fully redesigned rooms and suites, along with three new signature suites: the Limonaia, set within the former orangery with a private garden and heated pool; the Grand Tour, occupying the first floor and once used as a residence by Napoleon Bonaparte; and the Botanica, an ode to Florentine gardens and the arts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A first for the property: the Villa San Michele Spa by Guerlain, accessible through a “secret entrance” adorned with hand-painted frescoes by artist Elena Carozzi, with three treatment rooms surrounded by onyx and natural marble. The fa\u00e7ade, attributed to the school of Michelangelo, has not moved an inch. That is precisely the point.<\/p>\n\n\n

British Pullman Celia \u2014 Baz Luhrmann Takes the Train<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

Also from Belmond<\/a>, the design sketches of Celia \u2014 a new private dining carriage for the British Pullman \u2014 were recently unveiled. Conceived by filmmaker Baz Luhrmann and Oscar-winning designer Catherine Martin, the carriage will launch in summer 2026 as a private event venue aboard the historic train.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Celia can accommodate up to 12 guests for cocktails, dinner, and dancing on all British Pullman routes, departing from London Victoria \u2014 to Bath, Oxford, or Blenheim Palace.<\/p>\n\n\n

The Macallan has unveiled a new limited edition expression: the Diamonds Are Forever 55th Anniversary Release<\/em>, marking 55 years since the film’s premiere with Sean Connery as 007. The whisky was distilled in 2007 \u2014 a direct reference to 007<\/a> \u2014 and aged for 18 years in hybrid casks made of European and American sherry-seasoned oak, complemented by American oak casks that previously held red wine \u2014 an absolute first for The Macallan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On the nose, notes of vanilla, dried fruits, and polished oak. On the palate, creamy caramel, cocoa truffles, figs, berries, coffee, and a long, refined finish. The whisky is bottled at 45.5% ABV \u2014 a nod to the film’s 55th anniversary \u2014 and its natural colour evokes the red sandstone of Nevada’s valley, the central backdrop of Diamonds Are Forever. Angine de Poitrine \u00d7 Festival de Jazz \u2014 Pure Open-Air Ecstasy<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

The mysterious Quebec duo Angine de Poitrine, made up of Khn (guitarist-bassist) and Klek (drummer), will take the stage at the TD Stage at Place des Festivals on Saturday, June 27 at 9:30 p.m., in what promises to be one of the highlights of the 2026 Montreal International Jazz Festival.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Announced exclusively on Tout le monde en parle<\/em>, the group \u2014 whose two members conceal their identities beneath flamboyant costumes and cardboard heads \u2014 promises an experience as disorienting as it is captivating. Their instrumental music blends math-rock, microtonal scales, disco grooves, and acid techno pulses in a simultaneously danceable and hypnotic whirlwind.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Following a remarkable performance on KEXP at Les Trans Musicales in France, the group has experienced a meteoric rise on the international scene. Seeing them outdoors, for free, in the heart of Montreal is the perfect opportunity to witness this Quebec phenomenon before they definitively conquer the world.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Burberry \u2014 170 Years of the Trench<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Some classics belong less to fashion than to heritage. The Burberry trench coat, celebrating its 170th anniversary this year, is the clearest incarnation of this.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The story begins with an obsession: to protect from the elements without restricting movement. In 1879, Thomas Burberry invented gabardine, a water-repellent yet breathable fabric that revolutionised outerwear. To mark this memorable anniversary, Burberry presents The Trench: Portraits of an Icon<\/em>, a campaign photographed by Tim Walker featuring 23 influential cultural figures \u2014 including Jonathan Bailey and Kid Cudi \u2014 in a compelling series of black-and-white portraits. A documentary film accompanies the campaign, with a score by Blur. At 170, Burberry reaffirms a single ambition: to embody the quintessential British luxury house \u2014 especially as Dunhill appears to be breathing down its neck.<\/p>\n\n\n

Founded on April 1, 1976, Apple is celebrating a half-century of innovations that have profoundly redefined our relationship with technology \u2014 from the Macintosh to the iPhone to the Apple Watch. A legacy that commands respect.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

To open the festivities, it was Alicia Keys who set the tone, with an exceptional concert at the top of the iconic staircase at Grand Central Terminal in New York, in the presence of Tim Cook himself. A worthy opening act for the brand.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Following the opening of its new Montr\u00e9al store<\/a> in January, Apple has just launched no fewer than seven new products, including the iPhone 17e and the MacBook Neo. At 50, the California company finds itself at a crossroads: continue to embody the pinnacle of hardware design, or fully embrace the AI revolution. For a gentleman who demands the best from his tools, the next chapter promises to be decisive.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Torlonia \u2014 Roman Sculpture at the Montr\u00e9al Museum of Fine Arts<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Some exhibitions are simply a shame to miss, while others leave an enduring void in the minds of those who never had the opportunity to experience them. The exhibition now on view at the Montr\u00e9al Museum of Fine Arts<\/a> belongs firmly in that latter category. Until July 19, 2026, the MMFA is hosting the Torlonia Collection \u2014 the largest private collection of ancient Roman sculpture in the world \u2014 in its only Canadian stop before the works return to Italy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Assembled in the 19th century by the Torlonia family of princes-bankers, this collection of 620 marbles and bronzes had remained inaccessible to the public since the end of the Second World War. Among the centrepieces are colossal statues, busts of emperors such as Marcus Aurelius, Hadrian, and Commodus, as well as mythological figures of Apollo, Aphrodite, and Hercules. Some 58 works \u2014 some more than 2,000 years old \u2014 are presented in the MMFA’s galleries within a scenography designed by St\u00e9phane Roy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

After extraordinary success at the Louvre, in Chicago, and in Fort Worth, the exhibition finds a singular presentation in Montreal, where the works are deliberately placed in dialogue with one another. This exhibition offers a rare opportunity for art and history lovers to meet the gaze of the builders of an empire.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

06 \u2014 Perspective – Prasino Issue 06<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

We talk a great deal about novelty. We talk far less about what patience makes possible.

The 911 Turbo S carries hybrid technology inherited from its Le Mans victories. The BMW iX3 starts from a blank page to lay the foundation for the brand’s next forty models. Villa San Michele closed for eighteen months in order to reveal itself more fully. British Pullman Celia breathes new life into a 1932 carriage under the direction of one of the world’s most maximalist filmmakers. And The Macallan has been waiting since 2007 to bottle its tribute to Bond. The Torlonia Collection also offers us that pause in time with its only stop on Canadian soil.

Nothing in this issue was rushed. That is a lesson the times tend to make us forget: the finest things reveal themselves only to those who know how to wait \u2014 and to those who know where to invest their time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Milos on Avenue du Parc. What an experience \u2014 for the freshness of the ingredients as much as for the exceptional service. An evening, yes, for an event; the presence of Canadian Bruce MacLaren’s, the owner of Wymara<\/a> resort \u2014 but a discovery that will stay with me for a very long time. Simple cooking, yet generous and utterly delicious.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
