Around the world with James Bond in No Time to Die

When it comes to James Bond and travelling, it would be hard to forget all the wonderful places he has visited. Learn more about Norway and Jamaica, two countries at the heart of the British spy’s latest adventure, “No Time To Die.”

Jamaica: Bond’s Island

Following his escapades in Italy, it is in the Caribbean Sea aboard the magnificent classic yacht Spirit 46 that we find Bond, at the start of his new life. He is heading towards his residence, the former estate called GoldenEye, which belongs to Ian Fleming, the creator of our beloved agent. It would be difficult for James Bond to be any more Jamaican, since it is in this property that the character came to life, borrowing the name of a great American ornithologist and where the author would write many of the books starring the British spy. In fact, his desk is still present in the residence. In this escape, we notice a certain serenity, a peaceful ambiance.

GoldenEye

If you are wondering whether or not you can rent Villa Fleming, the answer is yes! It is located inside the private and secluded GoldenEye resort on Oracabessa Bay, and is only 20 minutes east of Ocho Rios, an hour and 45 minutes by car from Montego Bay and Kingston, and less than 10 minutes by car from the International Airport, named after the famous author. And because there is no coincidence, the estate owner is now Chris Blackwell, founder of Island Records, the creator of Blackwell rum which makes a first appearance in “No Time to Die.”

What to Do in Goldeneye

From swimming and snorkelling to paddle boarding and kayaking, there are a number of activities that are available for your entertainment. Whatever you opt for, one thing is for sure: you won’t get bored when you stay at GoldenEye.

Port Antonio

Port Antonio is an absolute haven, but its peaceful charm is not the only reason to visit this city. If you are into arts, crafts and all the gems Jamaica has to offer, come and explore the city in which James Bond travels to meet his good friend Felix Leiter. From the magnificent Blue Lagoon to the secluded beach of Frenchman’s Cove and the ruins of Folly Mansion, Port Antonio is surely one of the most exotic places on Earth and the perfect paradise for a well-deserved holiday, wouldn’t you agree?

Around the world with James Bond in Cuba or Jamaica ?

You probably guessed it from this section’s header, Cuba is only a cover in this film. Bond does indeed meet Paloma, played by the Cuban actress Ana de Armas, in “Cuba” but the scenes are actually filmed in Jamaica. The magic of cinema, right? Whether it’s arriving in Kingston Harbor or at his rival’s party, it all takes place in the same country.

Nevertheless, it is not a long rest in Jamaica for our favourite secret agent, from what we can see in the movie.

Norway: Wonder of the Cold finish our Around the World with James Bond tour

I mentioned that Bond’s Jamaican rest was of short duration, and it’s in the magnificent Norway that we see him next, after a stop in London, of course.

In the movie and in the trailer, we see a little girl running away from a masked man on a frozen lake. This quiet lake is called Langvann and is located near Hakadal, a village in the Akershus region north of Oslo. It is only a one-hour hike through a forest away from the parking lot behind Hakadal’s train station. In this same scene, Lake Lutvann is also featured due to its clearer water.

Discover another location in the country of cross-country skiing in this film: The Atlantic Road, which so happens to be one of the most beautiful roads in Norway. It contains seven bridges that take you from island to island—the perfect setting for a dramatic car chase featuring James Bond and Land Rovers! Storseisundbrua, the largest bridge on the route, is particularly impressive and the most iconic landmark of this Norwegian Scenic Route.
