Luke Skywalker’s LEGO Landspeeder: My new fun factor!

Working with the Gentologie team has its advantages, in addition to being able to write about cars, I can receive gifts on occasion. As the Publisher already owns several LEGO’s, when the opportunity to get a new one presented itself, he offered it to me knowing that I had given one to my grandson. I asked for Luke Skywalker’s LEGO Landspeeder. Small detail, I have no patience. At least when it comes to doing something with my hands. I don’t have great artistic skills either. Basically, my attempts at art make any attempt at drawing or sculpting looks like a pumpkin.

Luke Skywalker’s LEGO Landspeeder: Exploring the Beast!

The challenge of LEGO Star Wars is, in my case, double. Double because it requires absolute attention to the instructions. And double because it requires patience and meticulousness. It is therefore with pleasure that I took on the challenge of building Luke Skywalker’s LEGO Landspeeder, one of the key pieces of the Star Wars collection. With its 1890 pieces, its detailed plan, the piece seemed to be surmountable, even for a clumsy gentleman like me. Take a look at the LEGO video to get a glimpse of the beast!

Let’s get this out of the way: the room is not yet complete (I’m travelling a lot these days), although it was started a few weeks ago. It is carefully placed to avoid things, and I go back to it when I have a free moment. Against all odds, I even try to go back as often as possible. Forget the LEGO of our childhood, this is a challenge for adults, requiring precision and spatial understanding (there is almost a Star Wars joke to do here!)

LEGO: A fun challenge

While at first I saw assembling them as a challenge to myself, I find the time spent following the precise and well thought out instructions relaxing. In fact, assembling such an adult LEGO project is a hobby whose pleasure and value surprise me.

Focusing on the project, from one of my favourite films, I must say, allows me to get rid of the day’s worries more than I thought. The good news is that the instructions are precise, and do not require a degree in engineering to savour the moment, and admire the result.

A little secret: assembling LEGO for adults requires, of course, a certain dexterity. But it was also the occasion to ask my grandson, who is the nine-year-old champion of LEGO sets, to give me a hand. Imagine his pride in being able to say that he helped me build such a beautiful project.

Luke Skywalker’s LEGO Landspeeder is not finished yet, because in reality I have only spent 2 or 3 hours on it so far. Apart from my grandson, nobody has seen the progress of the project. I reserve the surprise for them, because there were many sceptics about me, knowing my legendary skill.

But, always in confidence, I find myself shopping for the next piece. You never know, I might end up adding the LEGO’s Millennium Falcon to my collection. Or maybe a sports car? My grandson has already volunteered to support me in any case!

As we have already said, this passion for LEGO is not only for little children, but also for adults. Dear gentlemen, don’t miss your pleasure, whether it’s for yourself or for your whole family! For Luke Skywalker’s LEGO Landspeeder, it’s here!
