Worn by Brad Pitt in the movie F1 (which I mentioned in the Editor’s Picks for July 2025), which is also back in IMAX in some theatres, Sunspel’s Loopback sweater is a modern icon of understated style. Originally launched by Jonathan Anderson, former creative director of Sunspel, founder of the JW Anderson brand, and at Dior since 2025, it reimagines the classic athletic sweater with a clean cut and refined details.

Made from exceptionally soft loopback cotton, its internal loopback stitching is specially designed for warmth and insulation. Featuring a V-neck and ribbed cuffs, it is highly versatile and pairs perfectly with a matching jacket or sweatpants.

I personally own this model in olive green, which I purchased at Clusier a few years ago. There may still be a few left at the Old Montreal retailer, which is currently celebrating its summer sale.

The 10 years of Montréal Plaza

Editor's Picks for August 2025 - Montréal Plaza

This month, the renowned restaurant is commemorating its tenth anniversary and is ideally suited in Editor’s Picks for August 2025 ! It has undoubtedly been a pioneering force in this novel commercial venture on Plaza Saint-Hubert. You may be most struck by this place, not for its outstanding regional cuisine, but rather for its unique and carefully crafted interior design, masterminded by head chef and co-owner Charles-Antoine Crête. Recently, Montréal Plaza has opened a sister establishment, Juliette Plaza, named in honour of the chef’s mother, Charles-Antoine. This venue straddles the line between a wine bar and a bistro, offering more affordable dining options.

To commemorate this milestone, three events have been meticulously planned. The inaugural celebration took place on August 13, featuring a culinary collaboration between chef Samy Benabed from Auberge Saint-Mathieu and Vignoble de l’Ardennais. Two additional celebrations will follow: on Wednesday, August 20, the Cloakroom bar will be graced with an evening featuring a specially crafted cocktail menu curated by mixologist Maximilien Jean. To conclude these festivities, the chef and owner of the Mon Lapin restaurant, Marc-Olivier Frappier, will be present at the Montreal Plaza. He will unveil a unique menu that promises to captivate your palate.

Ferragosto in Little Italy in Montréal

Join us for the Editor’s Pick for August 2025, an Italian-inspired celebration returning on August 23 and 24, to everyone’s delight. To commence this festive weekend, a tailgate party will be held on Saturday at 5 p.m. in Dante Lane, adjacent to Pizzeria Gema, as part of a special Ferragosto-themed Takeout Saturday.

The festivities will persist on Sunday at 11:30 a.m. with a neighbourhood party (also known as a “block party”) organized by Pizzeria Gema and several guest restaurants, including Impasto, Ratafia, Café Marinelli, and Vesta. This event promises to be a festive day, concluding around 8:30 p.m., with barbecue, wine, cocktails, and delectable summer treats on the menu. A typical Italian-Montreal ambiance, characterized by friendliness and warmth, will prevail throughout the festivities. Early arrival is highly recommended.

Whisky Glenfiddich 15 Years Old

Everything-for-the-perfect-Fathers-Day---Glenfiddich-15-ans

This exquisite whisky stands out as one of my favourites. Its remarkable product quality is evident in its captivating aromatic profile, which closely resembles that of The Macallan range. This unique character is achieved through a meticulous maturation process that spans fifteen years. During this journey, the whisky has been aged in a harmonious blend of bourbon, new oak, and sherry casks, ultimately transitioning to a cask system known as Solera.

Upon tasting, the whisky reveals a velvety smoothness, adorned with delectable caramelized notes reminiscent of fudge and vanilla. The palate is enveloped in an array of aromatic sensations, including sweet cinnamon, marzipan, and ginger. This exquisite combination makes it an ideal choice for the esteemed Editor’s Picks for August 2025.

Two novelties from TUDOR

Although this is the Editor’s Picks for August 2025, we are revisiting our exclusive invitation from TUDOR to the Château d’Ivoire to discover two new releases from the Swiss brand during the Canadian Formula 1 Grand Prix weekend. The first, the Black Bay “Carbon 25,” is a chronograph designed in collaboration with the Visa Cash App RB Formula 1 team. Only 2,025 pieces were produced to commemorate a milestone year in TUDOR’s automotive history. Each watch’s individual number is engraved on the black PVD-treated titanium case back. Regrettably, all pieces are sold out.

In addition to the Editor’s Picks for August 2025, which is nearing its conclusion, we had the privilege of unveiling the Black Bay 54 “Lagoon Blue,” a watch that initially appears to be feminine. However, this perception is misguided, as it is more akin to a tropical getaway with the soothing sound of azure waves and pristine white sand, evoking the idyllic beaches of James Bond’s Jamaica.

Equipped with a harmoniously proportioned 37 mm case (a size that may initially appear modest but aligns with the original dimensions of James Bond’s watches in the novels of Sir Ian Fleming, its author), it boasts a “Lagoon Blue” dial that evokes the South Seas.

The allure of the latest TUDOR classic extends beyond its physical dimensions. The distinctive “sand-effect” dial and mirror-polished bezel harmoniously complement each other, while the meticulously crafted five-link bracelet adorns the wrist with unparalleled elegance. These meticulously crafted elements evoke a sense of timeless tranquility, transporting the wearer to a serene haven where the rhythmic sound of waves crashing on the warm sand creates a soothing ambiance. This exquisite timepiece is the ideal companion for the final moments of summer, providing a timeless and refined experience.

Concept Cadillac « Elevated Velocity »

This innovative concept car from the American automaker challenges conventional industry trends and has been selected for the Editor’s Picks for August 2025. Notably, it is an electric vehicle, and despite Cadillac’s designation as a crossover, its design closely resembles a traditional car.

The name “Elevated Velocity” suggests a powerful driving experience. As the market for high-performance luxury electric crossovers continues to expand, Cadillac has recently introduced the LYRIQ-V and OPTIQ-V to cater to this growing demand. The “Elevated Velocity” concept represents a potential evolution of Cadillac’s successful V-Series performance formula, particularly in light of the manufacturer’s upcoming entry into Formula 1.

The Elevated Velocity concept presents a compelling fusion of exceptional performance, advanced technology, and bespoke luxury craftsmanship. It offers a dual experience, characterized by captivating aesthetics and an elevated interior that elevates the ambiance of its occupants. Simultaneously, its raised platform is engineered for robust off-road capabilities in the most challenging desert environments.

This vehicle embodies the performance prowess of Cadillac’s V-Series and the “Art of Exhilaration” design philosophy. Its refined yet elevated design, complemented by 24-inch wheels, empowers occupants to conquer the most formidable terrain while providing a luxurious and refined driving experience on paved roads.

The Elevated Velocity concept will be unveiled at The Quail, a Motorsports Gathering in Carmel, California, on August 15, 2025.

This concludes the Editor’s Picks for August 2025. We anticipate your continued presence in September to continue this series.
