The Champenoise Maison has teamed up with American designer Pharrell Williams to reflect both its history and its commitment to French craftsmanship. What could be happier than celebrating your birthday in good company? Moët & Chandon and Pharrell Williams honour exactly the same shared values (collective spirit, optimism and human relations). Collective joy, a vision shared by the House and Pharrell, is at the heart of the collection, which aims to create moments that are both universal and deeply personal, where every detail is designed to honour those who come together to celebrate.
Birthdays are at the heart of the new design for Moët & Chandon, with the idea to focus on the people you share them with. The best part about a birthday are the people who want to celebrate it with you. – Pharrell
Did you know that every day, no fewer than 22 million people around the world celebrate their birthday, a ritual full of joy and gratitude towards those who make it an unforgettable occasion? Whether or not you enjoy celebrating your own birthday, we all enjoy celebrating our loved ones. It’s not the gift that matters; it’s the person who gives it. It’s not about the party, it’s about the people who are there. Finally, it’s not the bottle, but the people you share it with.

For generations, Moët & Chandon has been the champagne of choice for birthday toasts. It has been used to celebrate the British Royal Family as well as iconic cultural figures from the worlds of music, sport and film. In 1965, legendary actor Paul Newman celebrated his 40th birthday with the House. More recently, in 2014, actress Scarlett Johansson celebrated her 30th birthday with her twin brother Hunter. As for Roger Federer, he regularly marks his birthday with family and friends. There’s no shortage of occasions!
Le design et l’offre de la collaboration

To create a distinctive and unique design for every birthday, Moët & Chandon and Pharrell Williams, also Creative Director of Louis Vuitton Men, delved into the House’s archives. They discovered that the emblematic ribbon that now appears on the bottle was originally a buckle. The buckle, which represents union, generosity, joy and surprise, is one of the key elements of this limited-edition collection. The bow, available on certain editions, was designed by Pharrell Williams and made by the Parisian embroidery workshop Baqué Molinié, which symbolizes the very essence of this collaboration.
The different versions of the Moët & Chandon and Pharrell Williams collection
Brut Impérial Moët & Chandon and Pharrell Williams

Brut Impérial is a classic Champagne available in three colours: Golden, Midnight Blue and Deep Red, in a box with the neck of the bottle adorned in Golden, Midnight Blue and Deep Red. As for the champagne, this is a refined blend of over 200 crus, where the three Champagne grape varieties come together in perfect harmony: Pinot Noir (30 to 40%), Pinot Meunier (30 to 40%) and Chardonnay (20 to 30%). In addition, 20–30% of carefully selected reserve wines enhance the blend, giving it maturity, complexity and consistency.

This champagne has a low sugar content of 7 grams per litre. Its delicious, creamy flavour is a harmonious combination of generosity and subtlety. Its texture is both silky and crisp, evoking the fruity aromas of apples, pears and white peaches, as well as citrus zest, all enhanced by floral nuances of lime blossom and blond notes of brioche and fresh walnuts. Note that the Bow Creation Edition is a magnum.

This champagne may be less dessert-y than the next, but it’s perfect for kicking off your celebrations!
Nectar Impérial Rosé Moët & Chandon and Pharrell Williams

Nectar Impérial Rosé, in a transparent white bottle, is a dry champagne (not the Brut Impérial Rosé, but a different champagne), meaning a sweeter version with a sugar content of 45 grams per litre. It is an ideal companion for a gourmet dessert. Its blend highlights the variety and synergy of the three grape varieties used: the intensity of Pinot Noir (45% to 55%), the full-bodied structure of Pinot Meunier (35% to 45%) and the refreshing note of Chardonnay (5% to 10%). Like the Brut Impérial, 20–30% of its composition comes from carefully selected reserve wines that enhance its intensity, depth and consistency.

It’s impossible not to notice its bright coral colour with hints of intense red gold. The aroma is a symphony of intense red fruits, such as ripe strawberries and raspberries, with hints of pomegranate, vanilla, and a touch of brown sugar. A subtle hint of fresh mint adds a delightful complexity to the nose. On tasting, this wine offers a perfect balance, blending structure, sweetness, and zesty acidity. It glides across your tongue, leaving behind a velvety texture that melts on contact. Finally, as it fades, a subtle hint of tangy blood oranges persists, providing a delightful aftertaste. Note that the Bow Creation Edition is a magnum.

Finally, to round off this limited edition series, 30 numbered jeroboams of Brut Impérial come full circle. . . in a bow. Hand-crafted in France, these white cameo bottles feature a chromed mirror surface, hand-painted lettering by artist Astrid de Chaillé with 89 pearls in relief, and an oversized bow, also created by the Baqué Molinié workshop. Nestling in their own jewel box, these jeroboams are presented in painted wooden cases.

Knowing my friend Jean-Philippe, he would have preferred the Brut Impérial, like many gentlemen who, like James Bond, prefer white champagne to rosé, which is often straighter and less sweet.

Pharrell signs these creations with white dotted lettering, like pearls, on the box and directly on the bottle. He also transformed the red royal seal into a monogram beaded with his initials, PM, interlaced and rounded.
My dear gentlemen, who among you will bring the champagne for the next anniversary?
The limited edition Moët & Chandon and Pharrell Williams collection will be available from spring 2025 in selected SAQ and hotel spaces, at the Moet & Chandon Bars in Epernay, at Harrods in London, and at Kadewe in Berlin.
