The Bonaventure cocktail

In this article, we presented you The Bonaventure cocktail, an original creation of Mr. Maximiliano Vallée Valletta. The generous gentleman made us taste this delicious cocktail, made with Québec-based spirits (Les Îles Aperitif, London Dry Gin Portage and White Keys Vodka), just after our interview.

The story

Where does the inspiration for the Bonaventure cocktail come from?
[spacer height = “20px”]
As the Old Fashioned and the Negroni are my go to cocktails, especially during the Aperitivo (our guest is from Italian origins), which is really a time I really like. What I did with the Bonaventure (which the name came from the Island of the same name in Percé, Gaspésie, and has Les Îles Aperitif in it) was a Vesper twist, the well-know James Bond cocktail. Gin and vodka, but Les Îles instead of the Lillet blanc, finished with an olive. I like what is stronger in alcohol, it can be a little like a martini. I made this a Vesper twist with the White Keys vodka.

Method
[spacer height = “20px”]
- Pour the 3 alcohols into a glass (we use the one from Alambika) to mix with a large ice cream
- Sweat the ice well enough to cool the cocktail.
(Maximiliano suggests the ice made by Les Marchands, a Quebec-based professional ice on demand company) - Transfer everything in a glass and decorate with an olive and an orange zest.
- And it’s ready.
