This series will highlight our different categories, and will change according to the different events taking place. We’ll start with the city of Montréal, and then expand to other regions as interest grows.
Style

On the style front, while the good weather is setting in, check out our friends at Clusier (yes, we love them [they’re also a Gentologie partner] because their service is impeccable [that’s pretty rare in this business], and they’re incredibly nice) who have received several of their spring collections. Think of the superb Sunspel polo shirts worn by James Bond (which you can also buy online on Sunspel website), the superb suits and jackets from Canali, the Italian cottons from Gran Sasso and the moccasins from Doucals. In short, there’s everything for a successful weekend as a gentleman in Montréal. Go this Friday or Saturday—they’re closed on Sundays.

With Wrexham, the Welsh soccer (or football, for our European friends) team owned by Canadian Ryan Reynolds and his business partner Rob McElhenney, having just moved up to the English league, the step up from the Premier League, why not revisit the first 3 seasons when the 4th will be available from May 15 on FX and Disney+.
Fine Dining
Restaurant

The RENOIR at the Sofitel has just reopened and it’s magnificent. The dishes are a delight (don’t miss their foie gras), not to mention the service, which is always exceptional in this restaurant masterfully run by chef Olivier Perret. An excellent place to celebrate Mother’s Day, which is just around the corner. Stop by the NINI Salon à Cocktails, a new bar area in the front section of the restaurant.

There’s sure to be a big crowd at Cloakroom over the next few days. This gorgeous little hidden bar with less than 30 seats is under the direction of the great Andrew Whibley, who is the highest-ranked Quebec bar, at 31st, in the “North America’s 50 Best Bars 2025” ranking sponsored by Perrier, unveiled this Tuesday, April 29.

Wine

Inniskilin Discovery Series P3 -2023
Inniskilin’s Discovery Series P3, an excellent Canadian wine, returns to its original formula of Pinot Noir, Pinot Gris and Pinot Blanc. A hybrid between a red and a rosé, it’s a very pleasant wine. Fruity aromas, but a wine that isn’t, a real surprise that bursts on the palate. Recently tasted at Jessica Harnois’ wine salon at Club St-Denis, whose next and last edition before fall is May 29 (Reserve here). With a total of 7,300 cases produced, this is one wine you don’t want to miss. Perfect for BBQ during a successful weekend as a gentleman in Montréal from May 1st to 4th.

This weekend, May 2nd, 3rd and 4th, the Montreal Electric Vehicle Show (MEVS) will be held at the IGA Stadium. Many high-end manufacturers will be there, including Lexus, Audi, Cadillac (with its Vistiq Prem Lux 2026 premiering and road-testing), Mercedes-Benz and many others. A must-see for a gentlemen’s weekend in Montréal from May 1st to 4th.

Culture
It may be less of a gentleman’s movie, but Thunderbolts* is, without a doubt, a film to see at the cinema with friends for an evening of fun, adrenaline and popcorn. Interestingly, there are several women in the cast, embodying the growing place of equality in the Marvel universe for this 36th film. It’s an excellent premise for the summer movie season, which promises to be incredibly interesting with The Fantastic 4, Mission: Impossible, Ballerina: From the World of John Wick, F1, Superman to name but a few.
We’ll be back next Thursday with our suggestions for a successful weekend as a gentleman in Montréal from May 1st to 4th.
