The Bal Interdit at the Ritz-Carlton Montreal: The Must-See F1 Event of 2026
Published on · Updated on | 5 minutes of readingWith the Grand Prix arriving even sooner in 2026 — taking place a few weeks earlier, on May 24th in Montréal — the warm season, hopefully, kicks off with the Formula 1 Lenovo Grand Prix du Canada. During the off-track festivities, the evenings are nothing short of sumptuous. The one that has, over the past few years, become the flagship event and most sought-after among these social gatherings is the Friday celebration evening hosted by the Ritz-Carlton Montréal. This year, following the fabulous Ritz Royale in 2025 (which I had the chance to attend thanks to our friends at Oysters & Caviar, the official caviar distributor of the evening, Antonius Caviar), it is The Bal Interdit that is on the horizon — and we already have a few details for you, along with how to get your tickets.

As the Mercedes-AMG Petronas F1 Team dominates the drivers’ and constructors’ standings this season, it is Mercedes-Benz Canada (it’s thanks to them that we met Lewis Hamilton, right at the Ritz-Carlton, now a Ferrari driver) that is the new presenting partner of the grand Ritz-Carlton Montréal evening, The Bal Interdit.

While the full evening programme has yet to be officially unveiled, I’ve played secret agent (James Bond is never far away) and managed to uncover a few details. The most prestigious event of this weekend — and arguably of the entire summer (often at full capacity) — returns to the idyllic setting of the Ritz-Carlton Montréal. This exclusive event, taking place on Friday, May 22nd, 2026, promises to be an evening of unparalleled indulgence, where luxury meets the undeniable energy of the Formula 1 weekend.
Wander through two sumptuous floors inspired by the Seven Deadly Sins, each space revealing a different shade of desire. With Félix Fournier at the helm as artistic director, anything is possible!
A hushed nocturnal ambiance, with the feel of a red-light district, permeates the entire experience: dark tones, half-shadowed corners, and that sense that not everything is meant to be revealed.
- Lust — dim lights, slow rhythms, and undeniable tension
- Greed — excess, opulence, and unapologetic desire for more
- Envy — beauty, presence, and the art of being seen
- Gluttony — indulgent culinary moments without restraint
- Wrath — energy, release, and the pulse of the night
- Sloth — velvet lounges, lingering moments, quiet seduction
- Pride — the grand stage, where presence becomes power
The Bal Interdit will become the essential destination for the global elite and car enthusiasts during the Formula 1 Grand Prix celebrations. Guests will immerse themselves in a world of decadence across two floors of sumptuous décor, gastronomic experiences, and world-class entertainment. Thanks to Holt Renfrew, Tourisme Montréal, Patrón, Maison Perrier, Antonius Caviar, and Laurent-Perrier Champagne as partners, every aspect of the evening has been carefully crafted to reflect sophistication and elegance.
