The Art of Mixology by Campari at Art Basel
Campari, the iconic, unforgettable Milanese red spirit sitting at the heart of some of the world’s most famous cocktails, announces its first collaboration with Art Basel in Basel.
Campari at Art Basel : A 1st collaboration
At the 2023 edition of the modern and contemporary art fair in Basel, Campari will be present for the first time with the Davide Campari Lounge, which will welcome the fair’s public from Thursday June 15 to Sunday June 18, with its renowned mixologists, unique creations based on the red Italian spirit and exclusive experiences specially designed for visitors to Art Basel in Basel, a destination that Jean-Michel Dufaux told us about in his article on Switzerland.
The event brings together galleries and artists from around the world to create a global platform for discovery and encounters that drive the art world. Campari collaboration with Art Basel reinforces its dialogue with the art world, which has been at the heart of its DNA since its creation.
Campari is synonymous with Red Passion, the desire within us that is impossible to ignore. As the embodiment of this philosophy, Campari believes that mixologists are masters of creativity and art, who exude red passion in every one of their creations. To build momentum for future activities, Campari is collaborating with some of the world’s best-known mixologists to present “The Art of Mixology” at Art Basel in Basel. It will tell the rich and surprising story of the colour “red” through the history of contemporary art and the limitless possibilities that the iconic taste of Campari can offer. The icons of contemporary art will meet the works of art of mixology. Passion and creativity come together in the work of artists and bartenders, generating stories woven together in timeless narratives, which visitors to Art Basel will only be able to experience on this unique occasion.
Italian aperitivo comes to Switzerland
For the duration of the fair, the Davide Campari Lounge, located on the second floor of Hall 2 at Messe Basel, will offer a welcoming and sophisticated space where visitors can discover the culture and ritual of the true Milanese aperitivo through Campari creations, masterfully prepared and served by Camparino in Galleria. Every day, the Davide Campari Lounge will host a series of events from the official Art Basel calendar, as well as a series of exclusive moments during the traditional Italian aperitivo hour.
“The Art of Mixology” consists of five special appointments for all visitors to the show, every day from 5 p.m. Tommaso Cecca, Maria Kontorravdis, Chris Amirault and Sven Riebel will create an exclusive tasting experience inspired by masters of contemporary art from the same country who have worked with the colour red, evoking the passion and spirit of Campari through an extrasensory dialogue.
At every stage of Campari’s rich history, the brand has been a passionate source of inspiration for many artists in different fields, inspiring limitless creations in the world of art, design and cinema. Thanks to the uniqueness of these creations, Campari’s historical archive includes over 4,000 works of art, posters, graphic arts, design and film creations, many of which are preserved inside the Galleria Campari.
