The 7th Heaven of Automotive Masterpieces

The-7th-Heaven-of-Automotive-Masterpieces---Cover

When it comes to celebrations, a true gentleman knows better than to impose his gift suggestions – that’s an absolute rule! Yet this does not prevent him from expressing a few preferences, especially when the latter prove to be as unique as works of art, as in the case of a select line-up of luxury cars, the 7th Heaven of Automotive Masterpieces. After all, sometimes the automobile turns into art. Indeed, some vehicles featuring exclusive lines can be true masterpieces, owing to their very own emotional aesthetic. Not to be forgotten are performance and mechanics, as achieving such a level of engineering requires both cutting-edge technical knowledge and an attention to detail akin to madness. For me, the cars featured in this article are truly great works of art. They are creations I’d dearly love to find under the Christmas tree this year, but since that’s a long shot, I trust these short presentations will allow you to appreciate them as much as I do.

Once again, the British company outdid itself by creating a 750 coupé or cabriolet—we call it Spider—boasting extreme design and explosive power. Powered by a 4.0-litre twin-turbo engine that unleashes its 750 horsepower with astonishing vigour, the model accelerates to 100 kilometres per hour in 2.8 seconds. Lightness, precision and technology—these are the key concepts behind the McLaren 750 S.

This is the Scuderia Ferrari (the racing team) 90th anniversary model. Not only is this supercar powered by a V8 engine, it is also the very first Ferrari ever to feature electric motors at both front and rear. Picture this: a hybrid model capable of going from 0 to 100 kilometres in 2.5 seconds, with up to 1,000 horsepower, combined with a fuel consumption of 6.1 litres per 100 kilometres. The Ferrari SF90 Stradale, gentlemen!

Unless you have already reserved your Alfa Romeo Stradale 33, you will probably have to do without it. Reminiscent of the past, this car alludes to its 1967 design. In every respect, the new Stradale is exceptionally light and graceful. Sadly, the 33 units produced have indeed already been snapped up. This model comes with a level of personalization that challenges convention. Plus, it can be powered by either an electric motor or an internal combustion engine rated at over 650 horsepower.

Aston Martin is James Bond, the gentleman of gentlemen! Boasting outstanding mechanical features, the DB12 is a striking, sophisticated model. Under the hood lies a Mercedes 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 engine with a distinctive sound. Power is at 671 hp and torque at 590 lb-ft. Nevertheless, the atmosphere aboard is shaped by the refined leathers, elegant finishing details and high-end audio system. I simply love this model!

The Lotus Eletre’s range of over 500 kilometres, 603 horsepower and astonishing lightness are a surprise in every respect. Even more astonishing is the cockpit, looking more refined than ever. Everything is under control via a large central display, while there are no compromises on comfort.
