Why a new website for Gentologie?
After more than five years with the same platform, and even more than ten years if we count the previous iteration, it was time to offer you something new. A more modern, more fluid site, but without excessive animations that disrupt reading. After all, you visit Gentologie to read, to be inspired, and to discover new things, right?
So we’ve redesigned the entire experience to offer you:
—A more enjoyable reading experience;
—Simplified access to information;
—A clear editorial structure;
—An aesthetic unique to the world of the modern gentleman.
A New Colour Palette
If you’ve been visiting us for a while, you’ve probably noticed that the colours of the site have changed. Gentologie has moved from black and white to a deep English green accompanied by a delicate cream. This choice is not insignificant. It aims both to facilitate reading and to assert our identity, distinct from other high-end platforms.
Green is a colour of balance, situated between the vitality of yellow and the depth of blue. It evokes nature, freshness and renewal, but also hope, serenity and a certain calm positivity. In its richer shades—emerald (the name of one of our new subscriptions which are coming soon), forest green and champagne—it becomes a symbol of refinement, timeless elegance and individuality. It is the colour of exclusive clubs, hushed salons, discretion and style. It perfectly embodies the vision of the modern gentleman: confident, in control of his movements, capable of inspiring respect while remaining true to himself.
At Gentologie, green is now omnipresent. It has even become the name of our new members-only newsletter, launched in September: Prasino, which means “green” in Greek.
Gentologie New Website: Redesigned Navigation
Articles, always designed for gentlemen, will now be published more regularly now that our new platform is in place. The structure has been completely optimized: a more fluid layout, an airy space, controlled typography and sidebars with less advertising to promote concentration and reading pleasure.
The navigation has also been thoroughly redesigned. The menus now give pride of place to images and content hierarchies, with a clear and intuitive logic. The goal is simple: to allow you to quickly find what interests you, while enjoying a natural, elegant and pleasant exploration—much like a conversation between gentlemen.
What About Advertising?
It’s a valid question. Yes, there is advertising on Gentologie. But it’s not there by chance—it’s necessary for our editorial independence and the sustainability of the platform. With around 5,000 views per month, it’s difficult to make the site profitable otherwise.
Our goal is clear: to offer an ever more enjoyable reading experience. The more articles are viewed and shared, the more we can reduce advertising. Every visit, every recommendation, and every article read in its entirety contribute to this progress.
In short, your attention has real value. It allows us to continue creating quality content—free, curious, thoughtful—for all those who aspire to live by the codes of the modern gentleman.
Signatures: Our Sponsored Articles
We are also developing a new editorial dimension: sponsored articles, which will now be officially called Signatures, following the example of established news media.
These partnerships will be explicitly disclosed from the outset, in a spirit of complete transparency. We have no intention of concealing these collaborations. On the contrary, our goal is to forge partnerships with brands that share our values, in the interests of our valued community.
Gentologie Partners
Our current and future members now have access to a new section entitled “Gentologie Partners”. This section will be expanded over the coming months to offer our community a variety of benefits and exclusive offers.
Coming Soon: A New Member Experience and Magazine Integration
We are also developing our own platform to directly integrate Gentologie magazines online. Several external services offer this type of solution, but often at significant cost. We are therefore working on our own, scheduled for early 2026.
