Founded in 1760, Lanson is one of the oldest champagne houses. The colour of this singular rosé is brilliant and inviting. On the palate, you will detect aromas of strawberries, berries and brioche. It is an ideal bubbly for a chic aperitif or even to combine with a classy meal. It will enhance salmon tartare or gravlax, or even a sushi platter. Vietti was founded 150 years ago in the heart of the Langhe, the historic Piedmont region listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, where nebbiolo is king in red. Their vineyards are planted on steep cliffs. This sumptuous white wine has a straw-yellow colour with silver highlights, and an inviting nose with hints of pear. On the palate, fresh yellow apple, melon and Meyer lemon, with a hint of herbaceousness. It is invigorating and its 4 months’ maturing on the lees give it almond and fullness. Persistent on the palate, it culminates in an invigorating saline impression. Try it with Vito tonnello, raw fish or pasta in a creamy mushroom sauce. Vibrant!

The year 2020 was warm and the climate was conducive to excellent wines in the Piedmont. On the nose, this wine has a seductive fragrance that leaves you breathless. The red fruit bursts out on the palate and its charm overwhelms us. It has the structure to improve for another fifteen or even twenty years. It will explode with arancini with sausage and tomato sauce or a fine piece of grilled veal. If the latter is not available, the 2019 Pio Cesare Barbaresco will delight you (SAQ 14555672). Seductive!
