From Monday until next Wednesday, Rum Week is in full swing and Bacardí is offering you 3 delicious cocktails to celebrate the occasion and your summer! The 3 days are as follows: Piña Colada Day (July 10), National Mojito Day (July 11) and National Daquiri Day (July 19). You may already know that Bacardí rum, which we told you about for National Rum Day coming up in August. Here are some classic rum-based cocktail recipes to make a drink to celebrate the day (or whenever you like). These cocktails are the perfect refreshments to beat the summer heat! Enjoy!
Start off Rum Week with the BACARDÍ Mojito
I love this recipe. Firstly, I’ve been making it regularly for a few years now, and it reminds me of the film Die Another Day, where we see Jinx (Halle Berry) on the beach in her beautiful orange swimming costume, reminiscent of Ursula Andress in Dr. No, where James Bond orders a Mojito. Here’s the recipe!
Ingredients
- 1 1/2 oz BACARDÍ Superior rum
- 3/4 oz lime juice
- 12 fresh mint leaves
- 2 teaspoons extra fine sugar
- 3/4 oz Club Soda
- 1 fresh mint leaf
Method
- Take the lime wedges and squeeze them into the an highball glass.
- Gently squeeze the limes and sugar.
- Strike the mint leaves between your palms, rub them over the rim of the glass and drop them into the glass.
- Then fill the glass halfway with crushed ice, add the BACARDÍ Superior rum and stir.
- Top up with crushed ice, a sprig of mint and club soda.
- Enjoy
BACARDÍ Piña Colada

BACARDÍ Daiquiri
Tangy, light and fresh, but also complex, the daiquiri represents the holy trinity of cocktail ingredients: the perfect union of sweet, sour and spirituous. Jennings Cox, an American engineer, created the cocktail in 1898 in the town of Daiquiri, Cuba, and for over 120 years the drink has been synonymous with good times, good company and good music, the perfect cocktail to celebrate Rum Week.
Ingredients
- 2 oz. BACARDÍ Superior White Rum
- 1 oz. lime juice
- 2 teaspoons extra fine sugar
Method
- Place the sugar and freshly squeezed lime juice in an egg cup and stir until the sugar has dissolved.
- Pour in the BACARDÍ Superior rum and fill the mould with ice cubes in the first half and crushed ice for the second half.
- Place the lid on the mould and stir vigorously until the drink is cold.
- Then strain through a tea strainer into a small frosted cup.
- Enjoy
