2025 Montréal Auto Show: What not to miss!
As the curtain falls on the 2025 Montréal Auto Show on January 26, there are some truly captivating highlights that you won’t want to miss. Here’s a sneak peek at what caught my eye during the media preview.
The major manufacturers are back … but there are also some big absentees at the Montréal Auto Show 2025
Of course, the pandemic has changed the face of car shows around the world. Some have become regional events, some have ceased to exist, many have shrunk in scale, and others have adopted new names that encompass all modes of transportation. It’s worth mentioning that our discussion will solely focus on high-end car manufacturers.
The dominant players at the 2025 Montréal Auto Show
Alfa Romeo
Explore the allure of Alfa Romeo’s superb SUV, the Tonale Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicle (PHEV). Its hybrid powertrain combines a 1.3-litre 4-cylinder turbocharged engine upfront with a rear-mounted electric motor and a 15.5 kWh battery. This fusion delivers an impressive 280 horsepower and 305 lb-ft of torque. The front grille, reminiscent of the iconic Alfa Romeo Stradale 33, is truly captivating. As Marc Bouchard noted in this very article, it’s hard not to be drawn in by its irresistible charm.
Buick
The 2025 Buick Enclave Sport Touring and Avenir, Buick’s flagship SUV, makes its Canadian debut at the 2025 Montréal Auto Show. This groundbreaking vehicle boasts an impressive feature: Super Cruise, a state-of-the-art, fully autonomous driving aid. With Super Cruise, drivers can embark on over 720,000 kilometres of eligible roads across Canada and the US without ever touching the steering wheel. Moreover, it boasts a massive 30-inch display, the largest in its class.
Cadillac
By the year 2025, Cadillac Canada aims to establish itself as a leader in the luxury automotive market with an all-electric SUV lineup. For the first time, Canadians will have the chance to see and explore four out of Cadillac’s five electric models under one roof. The OPTIQ, VISTIQ, OPTIQ, LYRIQ, VISTIQ, and ESCALADE IQ will be unveiled together at the Montréal Auto Show.
Chevrolet
Even though it’s not a true luxury car, it’s still impressive. The 2025 Corvette ZR1, with 1,064 horsepower, is the fastest Corvette ever produced. It can go from a standstill to 96 km/h (60 mph) in just 2.3 seconds thanks to the ZTK performance package. Its 5.5-liter DOHC twin-turbocharged V8 engine, affectionately known as LT7, is a true performance powerhouse. The ZR1 also revives one of the most iconic Corvette styles of all time: the split rear window. In this article, our in-house journalist, Marc Bouchard, had a conversation with you regarding the Z06.
Infiniti
This version of the QX80 is simply superb. The front lights, the interior. Wow. The dashboard is superbly integrated with their QX Harmony vision. It’s worth the diversions.
McLaren
At McLaren, explore an array of awe-inspiring supercars from the champion team of the 2024 Formula 1 season. These cars are not suitable for every driver, but they will captivate your attention with their stunning design, including the Artura Hybrid, 750s Coupe, Artura Hybrid, GTS, and 750s Spider.
Lincoln
This year’s Lincoln exhibition promises to astound attendees, featuring two remarkable automobiles: the brand-new 2025 Lincoln Navigator, sharing its foundation with the acclaimed Ford Expedition, and the enduringly popular Nautilus, named by Motor Trend as 2025’s top SUV.
Thirty years ago, a vehicle paved the way for the full-size luxury SUV category. Now, that same vehicle, the 2025 Lincoln Navigator, is back with a daring design, a completely reimagined interior, iconic features, and cutting-edge connectivity. The result will be a haven of comfort and luxury for its passengers, whether they’re on or off the road.
The brand-new interior of the Navigator blends opulent materials with cutting-edge technology, including the Lincoln digital experience, made possible by a 48-inch curved panoramic display that stretches across the entire dashboard.
Lamborghini
Lamborghini has two Canadian premieres this year. The Revuelto is a hybrid supercar that combines a combustion engine and electric motors, offering improved performance and efficiency. It represents a groundbreaking innovation in automotive technology while maintaining the brand’s bold design and impressive performance. The URUS SE Hybrid is a hybrid version of Lamborghini’s popular SUV, which is the subject of this article. This edition blends the sophistication and power of a sports utility vehicle (SUV) with hybrid technology, providing an eco-friendly but still exhilarating driving experience worthy of a Lamborghini car.
Lexus
Be in awe of two exquisite automobiles designed by Montreal-based artists: the Lexus IS, crafted by Patrick Dyer Jalea, and the Lexus NX, masterminded by Mono Sourcil. Their imposing SUVs aside, in my opinion, Lexus truly excels in the world of vehicles. Their sporty models are captivating, alluring, and inspire a desire for exploration.
Lucid
At this year’s Montréal Auto Show, Lucid makes its debut, showcasing four all-electric models: the 2025 Air Grand Touring, Gravity, Air Touring, and Air Pure. The Lucid Air has been shortlisted as a contender for Canada’s top electric car award by the AJAC.
Lotus
The Lotus Emira, a sports car that was introduced in 2021, boasts a sleek and sophisticated design, coupled with impressive performance capabilities. It is available with various powertrain options, including engines from Toyota and Mercedes-AMG, providing a thrilling and responsive driving experience. It’s worth mentioning that Lotus is setting up a dealership in the Greater Montréal area, specifically in Vaudreuil-Dorion, in 2025.
Mercedes-Benz
As for Mercedes-Benz, which is making a comeback this year, you’ll have the magnificent Mercedes-AMG GT 63 4MATIC+ on hand, a remarkable and powerful vehicle that will have many people dreaming. A huge stand located at the exit that brings the 2025 Montréal Auto Show to a magnificent close.
Polestar
Discover the Polestar 2, 3 and 4. In particular, the Polestar 4 impresses with the elimination of the rear window and the addition of a high-definition camera to increase interior space and open up the view to the rear.
Les grands absents
Once again this year, a significant number of prominent automakers will not be present at the 2025 Montreal Auto Show. Among them are Acura, Aston Martin, Audi, Bentley, BMW, Ferrari (where you can once again marvel at Luc Poirier’s impressive collection), Genesis, Jaguar (which had temporarily halted production in 2025), Land Rover, Maserati, MINI, RIMAC, Rivian, Rolls-Royce, Porsche, Vinfast, and Wagoneer.
The 2025 Montréal Auto Show ends on January 26. It’s a great opportunity to find out what’s coming to our roads over the next few years. Get your tickets here.
